Maine Motorcyclist for Charity Hosts First Annual Cornhole Tournament to Support Honor Flight Maine

Maine Motorcyclist for Charity recently organized its first annual cornhole tournament, bringing together local riders, community members, and businesses for a great cause. The event aimed to raise funds for Honor Flight Maine, a nonprofit dedicated to honoring veterans by providing them with free trips to visit war memorials in Washington, D.C. This tournament combined friendly competition with community spirit, showing how small efforts can make a big difference.

A Community Event with a Purpose

The event was held at Just In Time Recreation in Lewiston, providing a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Local businesses stepped up as sponsors, donating prizes and supplies.

Participants registered individually, competing through several rounds of cornhole matches. The game, which involves tossing bean bags onto a raised board with a hole, is easy to learn and fun for all ages. This made the tournament accessible and enjoyable, encouraging more people to join and support the cause.

Supporting Honor Flight Maine

Honor Flight Maine plays a vital role in recognizing the sacrifices of veterans by organizing trips to national memorials. These trips offer veterans a chance to connect with their history and receive public appreciation. The funds raised during the tournament will help cover travel expenses, meals, and accommodations for veterans who might otherwise be unable to participate.

By hosting this event, Maine Motorcyclist for Charity not only raised money but also increased awareness about the importance of honoring veterans. The tournament created a space for storytelling and gratitude, where attendees could learn more about the veterans’ experiences and the mission of Honor Flight Maine.

The collaboration between the charity, businesses, and community members highlights how local support can amplify charitable efforts. It also strengthens community ties, showing that people from different backgrounds can come together for a shared goal.
